Rule 40A
Provisions relating to level of non-graded posts

(1) Nepal Police will have the following rank in the unranked post:-
(a) first level, (b) third level, (c) third level, (d) fourth level, (e) fifth level. -(a) Second level to those who have less than 14 years of service of five years or more,
(b) Tertiary level for those with ten years or more but less than fifteen years of service,
(c) fifteen years or more than twenty-three years; Fourth level for those with less than 10 years of service,
(d) Fifth level for those with twenty years or more of service.
(4) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (3), no increase shall be made in the following cases:-
(a). Throughout the period of suspension of salary increase,
(b) In case of reduction in pay increment or reduction in basic scale or non-adjustment upto one year from that date.
(5) The salary according to the level of sub-rule (3) shall be as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
(6) When increasing the level of unranked employees of Nepal Police, it will be done in such a way that it will be effective from the day after the completion of the service period as per sub-rule (3).
(7) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (6) at the time of commencement of this rule, in the case of police personnel who have completed the period of service as per clause (a), (b), (c) or (d) of sub-rule (3) at the time of commencement of this rule, this rule Commencement: The level will be increased with effect from the date.
(8) Regardless of what is written in sub-rules (6) and (7)/Ma, if the punishment as per sub-rule (4) is imposed during that period, the level shall be increased with effect from the day after the expiry of the period.
